Pioneer DJ has released a new Rekordbox DJ controller, the DDJ-1000. With a CDJ-sized turntable and a built-in display, as well as some new effects, it’s not hard to see that the DDJ-1000 is an exact copy of Pioneer’s DJ club-specific equipment.
Pioneer DJ’s DDJ-R * (RB, RR, RX, RZ) series is the first Rekordbox DJ-specific product line, purpose is nearly identical in design and features to the very popular DDJ-S * series, while the DDJ-S * The series is dedicated to Serato DJs. Many users have made such an opinion: the turntable of the DDJ series controller feels much lighter than the CDJ, even the full size controller (SZ, SZ2, RZ) turntable. Although the DDJ-1000 only has the same weight of 6kg as the DDJ-SX2/RX, it has the CDJ’s turntable slack adjustment knob, which means that you can also adjust the turntable rotation resistor just like the CDJ. Overall, the design of the DDJ-1000 mainly reflects the CDJ series rather than the DDJ series. The best embodiment is that there is a navigation knob in the upper right corner of the left and right turntables on the fuselage. Low Cut Echo is probably a new effect developed based on user research on the DJM-900NXS2, most people turn off low frequencies when using the Echo effect on the DJM-900NXS2.
Dual USB Ports Every DJ controller that can be used B2B should have dual USB ports, a concept that Pioneer DJ enabled when they released the DDJ-SZ. It’s nice that the DDJ-1000 also has dual USB ports. On the DDJ-1000 each channel can be switched between USB A, USB B and Line/Phono
Other Features MagvelFader: The DDJ-1000 crossfader’s is a lightweight version of the DJM-S9 Magvel Fader’s Pro, purpose it’s still rated for over a million uses. Scratching Latency: In the video, the DDJ-1000 is referred to as Pioneer DJ’s lowest-latency controller, and the press release also states that “we’ve refined the software to handle the turntables and crossfaders, significantly reducing latency.” Four-track control: This is the same function as the DDJ-SX2/RX, but even better is that the turntable display will show which track you are currently controlling. Slip Reverse: this is a feature from the CDJ-2000NXS2 that allows the user to use reverse playback and hold the Slip when the Slip is not lit. Rekordbox DVS Ready: The DDJ-1000 has a phono input, but you have to purchase an additional Rekordbox DJ DVS’s expansion pack and control records to use the DDJ-1000 DVS function.
